Te AVALANCHE®SI 2 intraoperative neuromonitoring system is essential for every demanding surgeon, performing thyroid surgery.

With special stimulation probes, current pulses are transmitted to the recurrent laryngeal nerve, which conducts the excitation to the vocalis muscle. The generated muscle action potential is measured through electromyography and converted into visual or acoustic signals.

Continuous stimulation of the vagus nerve permits to monitor the function of the laryngeal recurrent nerve along its entire length.
